Yusuf Buhari, son of late former president, has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress primary election for the Daura/Sandamu/Mai’Adua Federal Constituency seat in Katsina State.

The primary election, held on Saturday, saw Buhari record a sweeping victory after polling 17,342 votes to defeat his closest challenger, who secured 137 votes.

Announcing the outcome of the exercise, the Returning Officer, Lawal Garba, said the result followed the completion of the party’s primary and affirmation process.

Yusuf Buhari is the son of the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who hailed from Daura in Katsina State.

The All Progressives Congress primary was conducted ahead of the next general election, with party members voting to determine the candidate for the federal constituency seat.
