UAE Shoots Down Iranian Missiles, Drones in Heavy Air Battle
The United Arab Emirates has successfully intercepted a large wave of Iranian missiles and drones aimed at the country.
The incoming projectiles were shot down by the UAE’s air defense systems before they could hit any targets. No casualties or major damage have been reported so far.
The attack involved several ballistic missiles and explosive drones launched from Iranian territory. The UAE’s radar and interceptor systems tracked the threats and destroyed them mid-air. Officials say the quick response prevented what could have been a deadly strike.
This attack comes as a shock, since the UAE and Iran had recently been holding talks to reduce tensions. Just weeks ago, both sides discussed maritime security and non-aggression agreements.
The sudden assault has now broken that fragile peace.
Saudi Arabia and the United States have been informed about the incident and are watching closely. Military experts say Iran appeared to try and overwhelm the UAE’s defenses with multiple targets at once. However, the UAE’s advanced defense network held strong against the barrage.
Authorities in Dubai and Abu Dhabi have reassured residents that there is no ongoing danger. The UAE is expected to take the matter to the United Nations Security Council.
For now, the successful interception proves the country’s ability to defend its skies from any attack.
