NUC Grants Full Accreditation to 7 Programmes at Achievers University

The National Universities Commission has granted full accreditation to seven academic programmes at Achievers University, according to a statement released on Wednesday by the institution’s Head of Media and Publicity, Olaniyi Adekanye.

The newly accredited programmes include medical laboratory science, civil and environmental engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, microbiology, criminology and security studies, and sociology.

In an official communication dated April 7, 2026, and signed by the commission’s Director of Accreditation, the NUC confirmed that all programmes presented for assessment met its quality assurance benchmarks covering curriculum design, staffing, infrastructure, library resources and instructional delivery.

The accreditation status, the commission noted, is valid for five years.

Responding to the development, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Oyesoji Aremu, described the approval as a significant boost to the university’s academic profile and a validation of its investments in faculty development, modern laboratories and continuous curriculum upgrades in line with global standards.

Aremu congratulated the Governing Council chaired by Pro-Chancellor, Professor Bode Ayorinde, as well as other principal officers and staff of the institution. He urged the university community to remain committed to sustaining and improving the standards that earned the institution the accreditation.
