Tompolo, Adeleke, Oyetola Unite in Osun, Set 1.5 Million Vote Target for Tinubu
A high-powered political coalition featuring High Chief Government Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola has set a minimum target of 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in Osun State ahead of the January 16, 2027, presidential election.
The target was announced on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in Osogbo during the inauguration of the state and local government structures of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. Osun has 2,339,233 registered voters, of whom 1,906,390 have collected their Permanent Voter Cards.
Tompolo, the Grand Patron of the movement, donated 30 campaign vehicles fitted with public address systems, generators and amplifiers to ease grassroots mobilisation across the state. Speaking through his representative, Kestin Pondi, Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, Tompolo urged Osun residents to give Tinubu nothing less than 90 per cent of the votes cast in the state.
“We are in Osun State canvassing for votes for a man who has done so well for the South-West because we believe in the man,” Tompolo said. “We believe in the man’s reformation agenda, and we believe that the man is what Nigeria needs at this point”. He cited the absence of fuel queues, a stable economy and increased allocations to states as evidence of the President’s reforms.
Governor Adeleke, represented by his deputy, Kola Adewusi, called on coalition partners to set aside past antagonisms and unite for the President’s re-election. “All coalition partners have a duty to overlook all previous relationship antagonism and join hands to deliver between 1.5 to 2 million votes for Mr President,” Adeleke said.
He clarified, however, that the coalition’s unity is limited to the presidential election. “None of the three partners has a deal on the forthcoming legislative elections,” he said. “While we mobilise and deliver for Mr President, each coalition partner will work and campaign for their candidates for Senate, House of Representatives and the House of Assembly”.
Minister Oyetola, represented by the APC’s 2026 Osun governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, said the President’s re-election project had continued to attract support beyond the traditional boundaries of the APC. “Our target of mobilising 1.5 million votes for President Tinubu in Osun is achievable if we approach the assignment with unity, discipline and determination,” Oyetola said.
The event brought together the APC, Accord Party and PDP members under the Rainbow Coalition umbrella, with a 10,000-member canvassing team charged with reaching every door in the state. The National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, urged voters to collect their PVCs and deliver two million votes for the President irrespective of party affiliation.
The inauguration marks the formal launch of the coalition’s grassroots mobilisation in Osun, with the January 16, 2027, presidential election as its first test.
