The Caretaker Committee of the Nigeria Judo Federation has assured all stakeholders and members of the judo family of a fair, open and credible electoral process ahead of the forthcoming federation elections.

The committee gave the assurance in a statement where it emphasized its commitment to conducting an election that will reflect transparency, inclusiveness and adherence to the guidelines governing sports federation elections in the country.

According to the committee, every necessary measure has been put in place to ensure that all eligible candidates are given equal opportunity to participate in the election without fear of intimidation, bias or manipulation.

The image accompanying the report showed a top official of the federation standing inside an international sports arena where a World Sambo Championship was taking place, representing Nigeria’s presence at global judo and combat sports events.

The committee further stated that the forthcoming election will be conducted in line with international best practices and will involve independent observers to guarantee that the outcome truly reflects the will of the stakeholders.

It called on all members of the judo community across the states to remain calm, united and law abiding, while assuring that no candidate will be given undue advantage in the electoral process.

The NJF Caretaker Committee added that details regarding the date, venue and modalities for the election will be communicated in due course and urged stakeholders to disregard any misinformation about the process.
