The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a man accused of impersonating a permanent secretary in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation after he was intercepted in a Lexus SUV bearing a concealed number plate marked “PRESIDENCY”.

The suspect was arrested at about 8 p.m. on October 20 in Maitama District, Abuja, after police operatives stopped the vehicle during an operation.

According to the police, preliminary investigations revealed that the concealed number plate carried the registration number **10B218 FG**, but the documents allegedly presented to register it were forged.

The suspect reportedly claimed to be the rightful owner of the number plate. However, further investigations allegedly revealed that he had been posing as a permanent secretary attached to the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

The police said the vehicle and its occupant were taken into custody for investigation and possible prosecution.

The command added that investigations were ongoing and that the suspect would be charged to court once the process was completed.

The police also urged residents to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security operatives and report suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station.
