Ogun Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Endorses Tinubu, Yayi for 2027 Elections
The Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Ogun State has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election and Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, for the 2027 governorship election.
The socio-cultural group also conferred the chieftaincy title of Dike Eji Eje Mba on Adeola in recognition of his contributions to the state.
The President of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo in Ogun State, Eze Stephen Okorie, announced the decision on Sunday during a courtesy visit to the senator. He said the formal installation ceremony and declaration of support for all All Progressives Congress candidates would take place in Abeokuta at the end of October.
Okorie explained that the endorsement was based on Adeola’s developmental efforts, especially in road construction and market infrastructure that promote trade and commerce. As a long-time resident of Ogun State, he said the Igbo community had observed these projects and decided to back the senator for governor.
The group leader also noted the need to address the long-standing marginalisation of Ogun West, which has never produced a governor since the state was created. He expressed confidence that Adeola would continue his inclusive approach and deliver more progress for all residents if elected.
In his response, Adeola recalled the support he received from the Igbo community during his political career in Lagos and said his style of politics is built on inclusion and good governance for everyone, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
