Lookman Thrilled by Goal Against Manchester United

Nigerian forward, Ademola Lookman has expressed his joy at scoring in Atlético Madrid’s 2-0 win over Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.

The Super Eagles star admitted he has found the start of the season difficult but remains determined to improve.

Lookman entered the match as a substitute in the 71st minute and scored eight minutes later. He finished from close range after United goalkeeper Senne Lammens could only push Jonathan David’s shot into his path. The goal was his first of the campaign in the Champions League and ended a six-match dry spell.

After the game, Lookman praised the team’s overall display. He said Atlético produced a strong performance both in defence and attack, describing it as a big collective effort.

The 28-year-old revealed that coach Diego Simeone instructed him to bring energy and contribute in both attack and defence when he came on. Lookman admitted his personal form had not been at its best so far this season but insisted he would keep working hard and fighting for his place.

He also thanked his teammates for the solid foundation they laid before he entered the match, saying their efforts made it easier for him to settle in and make an impact. Lookman believes the victory will give Atlético confidence as they prepare for their next La Liga fixture against Espanyol on Saturday.
