Trailer Kills NYSC Member, Injures Several Others in Ibadan Crash

A serving member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) was killed on Monday after a trailer reportedly collided with a motorcycle and several other vehicles around Agodi Gardens in Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Several other people sustained injuries in the incident, with the victims reportedly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Eyewitness accounts indicated that the articulated vehicle had allegedly been involved in multiple collisions around the Sango area before proceeding towards Agodi Gardens, where it struck the motorcycle conveying the corps member.

One witness, who requested anonymity, claimed the driver had hit several vehicles in Sango before the fatal crash.

According to another eyewitness, the collision near Agodi Gardens killed the corps member at the scene, while other road users suffered varying degrees of injuries.

The source further alleged that the driver had attempted to flee after the earlier collisions before the incident took place near Agodi Gardens.

When a correspondent visited the scene, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were present to respond to the accident.

However, as of the time of filing this report, authorities had yet to officially confirm the identity of the deceased corps member or disclose whether the truck driver had been arrested.
