Identify Kidnappers Within 20 Days or Face Relocation, Aseyin of Iseyin Warns Fulani Residents

The Aseyin of Iseyin has reportedly issued a 20-day ultimatum to Fulani residents living in a farm settlement, demanding that they identify those responsible for kidnapping incidents or face relocation from the area.

The traditional ruler gave the directive amid concerns over kidnapping and security challenges affecting the community.

According to the reported statement, the Fulani residents have been given 20 days to help identify the individuals behind the alleged criminal activities, failing which they may be required to leave the farm settlement.

The ultimatum appears aimed at encouraging cooperation with security agencies and strengthening efforts to address insecurity in the area.

However, details surrounding the kidnapping incidents, including the identities of the victims, the number of people abducted and the specific location of the farm settlement, were not immediately available.

It was also unclear whether the directive was issued in consultation with security agencies or relevant government authorities.

The development comes amid continued concerns about kidnapping and other security threats in parts of southwestern Nigeria, where communities have repeatedly called for stronger measures to protect residents, farmers and travellers.

Further details are expected to clarify the circumstances surrounding the ultimatum and the steps being taken to address the security concerns.
