RCCG Overseer Tasks New Badagry Region on Evangelism, Discipleship, Community Impact
The Continental Overseer of Continent 3 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Odesola, has charged the newly inaugurated Region 66 in Badagry, Lagos State, to strengthen evangelism, discipleship and community development.
Odesola gave the charge during the inauguration of the region at its headquarters in Badagry, where he urged church leaders and members to build on the achievements of their predecessors and pursue greater growth.
He said the establishment of the new region should represent more than an expansion of the church’s administrative structure, stressing the need for increased spiritual impact and greater commitment to its mission.
According to him, the church must appreciate its past achievements while working towards greater accomplishments, using previous successes as a foundation for future progress.
Odesola also emphasised that the success of the new region should not be determined by the number of administrative structures or positions created, but by its ability to reach more people and strengthen their faith.
He noted that the creation of the region came with greater responsibilities, requiring stronger leadership, more workers, effective discipleship and the wisdom to maximise new opportunities.
The cleric further urged members to recognise the sacrifices of those who contributed to the church’s growth and sustain their efforts towards advancing its mission.
Meanwhile, the pioneer Pastor-in-Charge of Region 66, Femi Olunuga, identified Christ-like character, loyalty and excellence as the core values that would guide the region’s operations.
Olunuga, who summarised the values as CLE, said the region would focus on developing leaders who demonstrate loyalty to God, the church’s mission, their superiors, colleagues and subordinates.
He added that the region would promote excellence and discourage mediocrity in its pursuit of spiritual and organisational growth.
