Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have uncovered and neutralised explosive devices allegedly planted by terrorists along the Magami-Hannutara-Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The explosives were discovered following intelligence reports about a potential threat to motorists and other road users along the route.

According to the military, troops secured the affected area and conducted a thorough search, leading to the identification of two locations where the devices had been planted.

An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was subsequently deployed to the scene, where one device was detonated in a controlled operation, while the other was safely recovered and rendered harmless.

Following the discovery, the troops intensified patrols and surveillance across the area to protect residents, secure the road and prevent further threats.

The military urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency to support ongoing security efforts.
