The Anambra State Government has invited potential investors to discuss the upcoming launch of its Mixed-Use Industrial City. Emphasis is being placed on key support facilities such as access roads, electricity, water supply and security.

The invitation was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, following the State Executive Council meeting held on Monday at the Light House in Awka. The council described the industrial city project as ready to take off in earnest.

During the same meeting, the council also reflected on the history and importance of Independence Day. It called on residents of Anambra to prepare for this year’s celebration scheduled for Thursday, October 1, at Ekwueme Square.

Other decisions included plans to streamline the state’s law enforcement groups to remove overlapping functions and reduce conflicts. The council also resolved to repossess and repurpose government lands that have been illegally occupied, advising encroachers to vacate them.

In the education sector, the council noted that Uga Boys Smart Boarding Secondary School is still admitting boarding students and directed integrity tests on student hostels across the state. It further approved plans for the second edition of the “Onwa Dezemba” programme in December 2026 to promote cultural and social activities during the festive period.
