Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat has pledged to prioritise technology, infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth development and support for businesses if elected governor in 2027.

The All Progressives Congress candidate outlined his vision at an event organised by 7-Fifteen Capital in Ikoyi, Lagos.

Hamzat engaged with about 150 young executives, founders, investors and business leaders. He said his goal is to create an environment where businesses can thrive and government systems work more efficiently for residents.

He highlighted his proposed Digital Lagos 2.0 initiative, which would use artificial intelligence, blockchain and smart-city technologies to improve governance and service delivery. The plan aims to position Lagos as a leading technology and innovation hub.

Hamzat stressed the need to strengthen education, improve healthcare, create more opportunities for young people and micro, small and medium enterprises, and make Lagos the safest mega-city in Africa. He said the next chapter for the state should build on existing progress while advancing innovation, inclusion and infrastructure.

The organisers of the event said it was designed to promote direct conversation between public leaders and young business figures who are helping to shape the city’s growth. They noted that the future of Lagos will be written collectively by government, businesses and citizens working together.
