Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa has called on young people to embrace artificial intelligence, innovation and technology-driven opportunities so they can take part in the emerging digital economy.

He made the appeal on Saturday at the third edition of a digital summit in the state.

Represented by Omotuke Oluwadaisi, the governor stressed the need for collaboration among government, the private sector, academia and young people to make the most of technology.

He said government alone cannot build the future of artificial intelligence and that partnerships are essential.

Aiyedatiwa urged participants to move beyond talking about what technology can do and instead focus on using it to solve local challenges. He encouraged the development of solutions, support for innovation and entrepreneurship, and the creation of partnerships that turn ideas into sustainable businesses.

The Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media and Digital Summit Coordinator, Olubunmi Ololajulo, said the event was designed to equip youths with practical digital skills and expose them to opportunities in the technology sector. He noted that some participants had already received laptops and other devices, along with tutorials on how to use digital tools to earn a living.

Keynote speaker and Director-General of the Ondo State Media Group, Kenneth Odusola, described artificial intelligence as an unavoidable reality. He urged young people to take advantage of the opportunities in the technology sector, saying tech is the new economy and everyone must embrace it.
