Troops of the 22 Brigade under Operation Savannah Shield have uncovered and destroyed a suspected terrorist camp in Alogomo, located in Edu Local Government Area of Niger State.

The operation was carried out during a fighting patrol launched from Dabanlema on September 24, 2026. Upon arrival at the location, the troops discovered that the suspected terrorists had abandoned the camp before their approach, preventing any direct engagement.

A search of the area led to the recovery of one AK-47 magazine containing eight rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition.

After completing the operation and securing the recovered items, the soldiers demolished the camp to prevent its future use before returning to their base.

The raid is part of ongoing military efforts to dismantle terrorist infrastructure, disrupt criminal activities, and prevent armed groups from maintaining operational bases within the region.
