Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has declared that he never betrayed the confidence the President placed in him.

He insisted he was not involved in the allegations made against him in recent months.

Gbajabiamila spoke on Saturday at the 2026 Gbajabiamila Mega Empowerment Programme held at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. The accusations related to the probe of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, a body later found to be fictitious.

He noted that investigations, including one by the House of Representatives, had cleared him. Gbajabiamila said the reports were now public and that some people had pushed for him to be condemned before the probes were completed. He thanked those who stood by him during the difficult period.

The former Speaker stressed that no amount of money, blackmail or lies would stop him from carrying out the work assigned by the President. He reaffirmed his long-standing loyalty to Tinubu and his commitment to the Renewed Hope agenda.

The empowerment programme targeted about 5,000 beneficiaries from Surulere communities. It included cash support, vehicles, electric tricycles, buses, security patrol vehicles and an ambulance.

Lagos Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat attended the event and also called for support for Tinubu’s re-election.
