Nigerian gospel singer, Adazion was left overwhelmed after her fans surprised her with two brand-new cars during her birthday celebration held on Saturday, adding to what has already become one of the most talked-about celebrity birthdays in recent weeks.

Clips from the event, which quickly went viral online, captured the emotional moment Adazion was handed two sets of car keys by one of her fans. Visibly stunned, she rushed outside to find a black car and an ash-coloured car waiting for her, and broke into dance as the reality of the double gift set in.

In a touching gesture, the singer chose to honour her father by allowing him to be the first person to sit inside one of the vehicles before anyone else got the chance.

The car surprise was only one highlight of a birthday celebration built around grand entrances and performances. Adazion, dressed in a bright pink outfit for the occasion, made a striking entrance while seated on an elaborately designed chair, flanked by bodyguards styled to look like angels. She also took to the stage herself, performing for her guests as well-wishers showered her with cash in celebration of her big day.

However, not all reactions to the celebration were positive. As clips of the lavish party circulated online, several fans and social media users questioned the decision to display such an extravagant lifestyle, with criticism particularly directed at the elaborate entrance and the stern-faced bodyguards.

Responding to the backlash in an Instagram post, Adazion clarified that the birthday celebration had been organised as a surprise for her, and that the extent of the display was therefore not something she had personally planned or chosen.

The gospel singer joins a growing list of Nigerian gospel artistes who have recently been on the receiving end of major surprise gifts from fans and colleagues, following similar viral moments involving other prominent voices in the gospel music space.
