The Anambra State Police Command has appealed to members of the public to assist in identifying and reuniting a young child found within the state with his family.

According to the police, the child was discovered under circumstances that suggested he may have become separated from his relatives or guardians. Efforts to establish his identity and locate his family have so far been unsuccessful.

The command said officers are currently caring for the child while investigations continue to determine where he came from and how he became separated from his family.

Police authorities urged anyone who recognises the child or has information that could help identify his parents, relatives or guardians to come forward and contact the nearest police station.

The command emphasized the importance of public cooperation in ensuring the child is safely reunited with his family as quickly as possible.

Residents were also encouraged to share relevant information with law enforcement authorities, noting that community involvement often plays a vital role in resolving cases involving missing or displaced children.

The police reassured the public that all information provided would be treated appropriately and used solely to facilitate the child’s safe return to his family.

Investigations into the matter remain ongoing as authorities continue efforts to trace the child’s relatives and establish the circumstances surrounding his separation from them.
