INEC Opens Online Portal for 2027 Election Ad Hoc Staff Recruitment
The Independent National Electoral Commission has opened its online portal for the recruitment of ad hoc staff for the 2027 general elections.
The portal, known as INECPRES, went live at 8am on Friday, September 18, 2026, and will close at midnight on Wednesday, November 18, 2026.
INEC plans to deploy about 1.4 million temporary staff across more than 176,000 polling units nationwide. Those selected will work during the Presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for January 16, 2027, and the Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections set for February 6, 2027.
The recruitment covers several roles, including Supervisory Presiding Officers, Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers, Registration Area Centre Managers and Registration Area Technical Support personnel.
Eligibility depends on the position and includes serving or former NYSC members, students of tertiary institutions, government employees and qualified ICT personnel.
Interested applicants can apply through the INECPRES web portal or via the official INEC website. They are required to read the eligibility conditions for their preferred role, complete the registration details accurately, review the information and submit the application before the deadline.
Applicants are advised not to wait until the final day to apply. For enquiries, INEC operates a 24-hour helpdesk that can be reached through its official contact channels.
