Troops have rescued eight abducted persons and arrested six suspected terrorists and collaborators during separate security operations conducted in Borno and Adamawa states.

The operations, carried out over several days, also led to the arrest of suspected terrorist logistics suppliers, the disruption of improvised explosive device activities and the apprehension of individuals linked to other criminal activities.

In Borno State, troops of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion rescued eight abductees near Armuda and Gava communities in Gwoza Local Government Area.

Preliminary findings indicated that the victims escaped from a terrorist enclave before being taken into the custody of local authorities for further assistance.

In Adamawa State, troops of the 23 Brigade arrested suspected terrorists during separate intelligence-led operations in Hong and Song local government areas. Security personnel also conducted raids that led to the arrest of individuals suspected of involvement in kidnapping and other criminal activities.

Military authorities said the operations form part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt support structures and enhance security across the North-East region.

The armed forces have continued to intensify intelligence-driven operations aimed at rescuing victims, apprehending criminal suspects and preventing attacks in affected communities.
