The Delta State Police Command have rescued a 60-year-old man who was kidnapped in Agbor and arrested 10 suspects in separate operations across the state.

The actions took place on Thursday and were detailed in a statement by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe.

Operatives of the Agbor Division, working with forest guards and local security personnel, moved to Alisime Village after receiving intelligence about the kidnapping. They engaged the kidnappers and successfully freed the victim unharmed. The suspects fled into the bush, and a mobile phone and ATM card were recovered at the scene.

In a second operation the same day, the Command Anti-Cult Unit based in Ozoro raided a brothel in Abbi while searching for a suspect linked to an earlier arson attack. Ten people, made up of seven females and three males, were arrested during the raid.

Items recovered from the location included substances suspected to be illicit drugs. The police said the suspects are being profiled and those found culpable will face prosecution.

In a third incident, officers of the Oghara Division responded to a report of a scuffle involving about eight people. The suspects fled when the patrol team arrived, and one of them discarded a locally made gun that was recovered. The Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Erale, commended the officers involved and directed that efforts continue to apprehend those still at large.
