Nollywood Actress, Temitope Osoba to Be Buried September 10

Nollywood actress and producer, Temitope Osoba, will be laid to rest in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, her family has announced.

The burial details were contained in an obituary published on the actress’ Instagram page on Monday.

According to the family, Osoba’s remains will leave the Ogun State University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, at 9 a.m. on Thursday for the burial ceremony.

The service is scheduled to hold between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. at Akesan Club, opposite Iperu Morning Market, Iperu Remo.

The interment will take place immediately after the service at the Iperu Remo Cemetery.

The family has directed mourners to wear white for the burial.

Osoba, popularly known as Tope Osoba, died in August 2026 at the age of 40 after spending nearly two decades in the Nigerian film industry.

The Yoruba-language actress and producer featured in several productions, including Oogun Mi.

Osoba had previously spoken publicly about her battle with breast cancer and sought financial assistance for treatment and surgery. In August 2025, she announced that she had recovered and was returning to acting, describing the period as a time of healing and personal renewal.

However, accounts surrounding the circumstances of her death have differed. Her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko, alleged that she died after being taken to a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos, while members of her family provided a different account of events preceding her death.

Actor Yomi Fabiyi subsequently called for an investigation and autopsy to establish the circumstances surrounding her death.

Following the controversy, Osoba’s family cautioned against spreading unverified information about her death and urged the public to rely on statements issued through its official channels.

Her burial was initially planned for August 13 in Iperu Remo but was postponed indefinitely.

The family has now confirmed September 10 as the new burial date.
