Troops Rescue Six Kidnap Victims After Fierce Gun Battle in Kebbi

Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have rescued six kidnapped victims following a successful operation against suspected terrorists in Kebbi State.

The rescue mission was launched after security forces received credible intelligence about the movement and activities of armed criminals in Mehinua Village along the Wasagu-Ayu Road in Wasagu Local Government Area.

According to military authorities, troops swiftly moved to the area and engaged the suspects in a gun battle. The intense exchange of fire forced the terrorists to abandon their captives and flee into nearby forests.

All six victims were rescued unharmed during the operation and have since been reunited with their families. Security personnel have continued clearance and pursuit operations aimed at tracking down the fleeing suspects and preventing further attacks in the area.

Military officials described the operation as part of ongoing efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry and other criminal activities across the North-West region.

The successful rescue underscores the increasing reliance on intelligence-led operations by security agencies to protect communities and dismantle criminal networks operating in the region. Troops have assured residents that operations will continue to ensure lasting peace and security across affected areas.
