The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Aminu Yusuf, has died barely eight months after assuming office.

Yusuf was appointed as chairman of the commission and officially took office in December 2025, succeeding the previous leadership of the agency.

His death has come as a shock to many within government circles and among stakeholders involved in population management and national planning.
