Nigerian rapper, Blaqbonez has finally addressed the real story behind his long-running and increasingly bitter feud with fellow hip-hop star Odumodublvck, revealing that the fallout traces back to a woman both men were involved with around the same time, without either of them initially knowing about the other.

Speaking on the Nevon HQ podcast with Rufai Oseni, Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, explained that he had been in what he called a non-exclusive, “friends with benefits” type of arrangement with the woman for about a year, dating back to 2023. He said there was no formal label attached to the relationship and that he never asked her who else she might be seeing.

About a year into their arrangement, the woman told him things were not heading in the direction she wanted and that she could no longer continue their friendship, a message he said felt performative, as though she were trying to paint him as the one holding on. When he pressed her on who she was now with, she told him it was Odumodublvck.

Blaqbonez said he chose to step back out of respect for the relationship, but that the tension escalated shortly after when Odumodublvck reached out to ask directly whether he had previously been intimate with the woman. He said he declined to answer, not wanting his response to affect what the two of them had going.

According to him, Odumodublvck did not take the deflection well and effectively declared the friendship over, telling him not to greet him wherever their paths crossed. Blaqbonez said he then tried to establish when the relationship between Odumodublvck and the woman actually began, reasoning that if it started only after his own arrangement with her had ended, there would be nothing to fight over.

He claimed Odumodublvck refused to answer that question either, which only hardened the standoff. “From that day till today, it has been constant harassment,” he said of what followed.

The rapper said the situation came to a head at a public event in 2024, where he accused Odumodublvck of confronting him and, on two separate occasions, snatching his sunglasses and a rosary he was wearing.

He said he chose not to make a scene at the time to avoid escalating things further. That encounter has since become part of a ₦2.55 billion lawsuit Blaqbonez has filed against Odumodublvck, in which he is pursuing claims that include criminal defamation, harassment, assault and theft.

The feud has played out publicly for well over a year, moving from cryptic social media jabs to direct diss tracks, including Blaqbonez’s ACL off his 2025 album, No Excuses, which many fans interpreted as a swipe at Odumodublvck and his Anti World Gangstars collective.

Tensions reportedly boiled over further at the Headies Awards, and more recently in June 2026, when Odumodublvck accused Blaqbonez on social media of sexual abuse and claimed the wider music industry had been shielding him. Blaqbonez used the podcast appearance to firmly reject that allegation, describing it as a serious accusation he does not intend to let slide, and said he is now pursuing a separate legal case specifically to challenge the claim in court and seek damages for the fallout it has caused him.
