The Federal Government has formally inaugurated the governing board of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC), charging the newly appointed members to prioritize equitable remuneration frameworks and enhanced productivity across the public sector.

The inauguration ceremony was performed in Abuja, where government representatives emphasized the critical role of the commission in balancing public sector compensation with economic realities and national revenue constraints.

Addressing the newly constituted board, the government urged members to demonstrate high professional integrity and ensure that wage policies reflect the principles of equity, economic stability, and worker welfare.

The commission was specifically tasked with reviewing existing compensation structures, addressing pay disparities across various government institutions, and developing sustainable frameworks that incentivize high performance within the civil service.

In response, the leadership of the inaugurated board expressed appreciation to the administration for the trust reposed in them, pledging to execute their statutory duties diligently and collaborate with relevant labor unions and public institutions to achieve fair wage administration nationwide.
