A once celebrated friendship between two Real Housewives of Lagos stars has spiralled into a bitter public feud, with beauty entrepreneurs Dabota Lawson and Adeola Adeyemi, better known as Diiadem, exchanging serious allegations about each other’s character and personal lives on social media.

The fallout began when Diiadem accused Lawson of running what she described as a coordinated smear campaign against her through bloggers, claiming her former friend had a habit of leaking private information about people whenever they had a falling out. As evidence, she pointed to an incident in which she alleged Lawson had shared a story involving Sophia Momodu with an Instagram blogger.

Diiadem also revisited an earlier moment in their friendship, referencing a five million naira transfer Lawson had sent her as a birthday gift, which she claimed she was later asked to return and did refund immediately.

Most painfully for her, she said pictures of her daughter were published on a blog during the dispute, an experience she described as devastating. She pleaded with Lawson to leave her alone, telling her to keep her name out of her mouth.

Lawson responded without holding back, dismissing the accusations and turning the spotlight onto Diiadem’s personal life. She made claims about an alleged affair involving a married man identified as Churchill and accused Diiadem of previously seeking financial assistance from her.

Lawson also pushed back on the narrative of who initiated their closeness, saying Diiadem started out as a fan who regularly engaged with her online before being welcomed into her personal circle. She further denied ever asking for the birthday gift to be returned and challenged Diiadem to state plainly what she had done wrong.

The dispute has drawn heavy engagement online, with Nigerians divided over who bears more responsibility for the public unravelling of a friendship that was once one of the most talked about bonds on the reality show’s third season.

Neither woman has offered independent evidence for several of the claims made against the other, and the allegations on both sides remain unverified. Friends and colleagues in their circle have also begun weighing in, adding fresh layers to a story that continues to develop by the hour.
