A 64-year-old man, Abubakar Aliyu, admitted on Wednesday to sexually violating a 14-year-old minor inside his pharmaceutical shop situated in Arawa Quarters, Gombe State.

Reports indicate that the individual involved is a grandfather with a number of grandchildren.

Aliyu, who was taken into custody after the victim’s mother lodged a formal complaint, acknowledged committing the offense when interrogated by law enforcement agents.

The suspect, presented to the public by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, CSC Saad Buhari, explained that the young girl visited his establishment during evening hours to purchase medications and disclosed that the abuse took place across three separate visits.
