Jarvis Shuts Down Tribal Rite Rumours Over Shorn Head at White Wedding

Nigerian TikTok star Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has cleared the air on why she shaved her hair ahead of her recent wedding, dismissing widespread speculation online that the haircut was tied to a traditional or tribal marriage rite.

In a video she shared after her wedding celebrations wrapped up, Jarvis explained that the decision was purely practical, driven by her hairstylist’s advice rather than any cultural requirement.

According to Jarvis, her stylist recommended the cut to ensure her wig and hair extensions would sit properly for her bridal looks throughout the multiple ceremonies. She said her natural hair, particularly around the frontal area, had always been difficult to manage and often affected how previous hair installations sat, which prompted the decision to go bald ahead of her big day.

She was firm in urging the public to stop attaching unverified cultural narratives to her personal styling choices, insisting the move had nothing to do with any marital tradition tied to her community.

Jarvis and fellow content creator Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, known as Peller, held a series of elaborate wedding ceremonies over the past few weeks that captured massive attention on social media. The couple first tied the knot traditionally on August 1, 2026, in a colourful ceremony, followed by a civil wedding, before capping things off with a lavish white wedding in Lagos on August 8, 2026, that drew celebrities, fellow influencers and thousands of virtual viewers.

Their union, one of the most talked-about celebrity weddings among Nigeria’s young digital creator community this year, has continued to generate conversation online even after the celebrations ended, with fans closely following every detail from their outfits to now, Jarvis’s new hairstyle.
