Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have rescued a suspected kidnap victim following an attack on a vehicle in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on August 10 along the Angwan Boka-Forest axis.

Soldiers deployed at SOPP responded to information that suspected kidnappers had blocked a blue J5 vehicle with registration number JJN 183 XP. Upon arriving at the scene, the troops made contact with the suspects and launched a pursuit.

During the operation, one of the occupants of the vehicle, identified as Mr Ali Abdullahi, was successfully rescued. The troops maintained pressure on the fleeing criminals as they searched the area.

Efforts are ongoing to locate a third occupant of the vehicle, who is reportedly the owner of the goods being transported. Search and rescue operations continue in the vicinity.

Military sources said the troops are working to apprehend the suspects and ensure the safe recovery of the remaining victim. The operation forms part of ongoing efforts to secure communities in Plateau State.
