ASUU Halts Academic Activities at Nasarawa State University Over Unmet Demands
Academic activities have been grounded at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), following an industrial action declared by the local chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The union directed its members to withdraw their services over unfulfilled agreements with the state government and university management, including unresolved issues regarding earned academic allowances, funding for campus infrastructure, and general staff welfare packages.
As a result of the strike action, lecture halls remain empty, ongoing examinations and academic assessments have been suspended, and students have been left stranded across the university’s main and satellite campuses.
Union representatives maintained that academic activities will remain suspended until state authorities demonstrate concrete commitment toward addressing their core grievances and implementing previously signed memoranda of understanding.
