The campaign of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji (popularly known as AMBO), received a major boost on Saturday after the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Adesina Adeyemi-Doro, withdrew from the contest to endorse his bid.

The decision was announced in Osogbo just one week prior to the August 15 off-cycle election, following extensive consultations between Adeyemi-Doro and APGA leadership across the state.

Addressing party loyalists, Adeyemi-Doro publicly declared his alignment with the APC standard-bearer, calling on all APGA members and supporters to vote en masse for Oyebamiji in the upcoming poll.

Adeyemi-Doro explained that his choice to step aside was reached alongside state party officials after evaluating all contestants, noting that both platforms share a common progressive political ideology aimed at advancing the state’s development.

In response, Oyebamiji expressed gratitude for the endorsement, promising that members of APGA would be fully accommodated and involved in governance if the APC secures victory at the polls.
