Cameroon, Morocco, Algeria Qualify for WAFCON Quarter-Finals

Three countries have secured their places in the quarter-finals of the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Cameroon, Morocco, and Algeria advanced after strong performances in their respective groups.

Cameroon became the first team to qualify after defeating Ghana 1-0 on Sunday. The Indomitable Lionesses top Group D with six points from two matches and have already guaranteed a top-two finish, regardless of their final group game against Cape Verde.

Hosts, Morocco also booked a place in the last eight after playing out a goalless draw with Senegal in Rabat on Monday night. The Atlas Lionesses finished top of Group A with seven points.

Algeria joined Morocco in advancing from the same group after recording a 2-0 victory over Kenya. The result left the Algerians in second place with six points from three matches, securing their spot in the knockout stage.

The qualification of the three teams sets the stage for the quarter-finals as the tournament continues. Other groups are still ongoing, with more teams expected to join the last eight in the coming days.
