More than 10 suspected vandals invaded Government Unity School, Ringim, Jigawa State, overpowering three security guards on duty and stealing 12 meters of 75mm² armored cable connected to the institution’s transformer, plunging the facility into darkness.

Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Jigawa State Command, ASC Badruddeen Tijjani, stated that the attack occurred around 2:00 a.m. Operatives from the NSCDC Ringim Divisional Office responded following a distress call and have launched an investigation.

The Jigawa State Commandant of the NSCDC, Muhammad Kabiru Ingawa, condemned the crime as a “criminal assault on critical national assets and infrastructure,” ordering a manhunt to track down, arrest, and prosecute all individuals involved.
