A retired High Court judge, Justice Alaba Omolaye-Ajileye, has paid glowing tribute to former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) President, Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, describing him as a towering figure in the legal profession as he marks 50 years since his call to the Nigerian Bar.

In a goodwill message commemorating Olanipekun’s golden jubilee at the Bar, the retired jurist said the Senior Advocate of Nigeria has distinguished himself through decades of exceptional advocacy, intellectual depth, leadership and unwavering commitment to the legal profession.

According to Omolaye-Ajileye, Olanipekun’s influence extends beyond the courtroom, noting that his dedication to mentoring young lawyers and strengthening legal institutions has left an enduring mark on Nigeria’s justice system.

He described the legal luminary as more than an accomplished advocate, saying his contributions have earned him a place among the country’s most respected legal minds and made him a bridge between generations of practitioners.

Reflecting on Olanipekun’s career, the retired judge said five decades of uninterrupted legal practice represent an extraordinary achievement, adding that his contributions have become an integral part of Nigeria’s legal history.

He praised the former NBA president’s courtroom advocacy, legal scholarship, analytical ability and eloquence, saying these qualities have earned him recognition both within Nigeria and internationally.

Omolaye-Ajileye, who identified himself as one of Olanipekun’s mentees, credited the senior lawyer with shaping not only his professional development but also his personal values. He said the legal icon consistently demonstrated integrity, humility, discipline, courage and a commitment to service, qualities he described as the foundation of lasting success.
