South-East Records Lowest Number of Completed Voter Registrations as North-West Tops INEC List

Nigeria’s South-East geopolitical zone recorded the lowest number of completed voter registrations as of February 13, 2026, according to data released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The figures showed that the North-West led the six geopolitical zones with 444,594 completed registrations, representing 36.2 per cent of the national total of 1.23 million.

The South-West ranked second with 204,798 completed registrations (16.7 per cent), followed by the North-Central with 175,838 (14.3 per cent) and the North-East with 173,044 (14.1 per cent).

The South-South recorded 154,914 completed registrations, accounting for 12.6 per cent, while the South-East trailed with 75,460 registrations, representing 6.1 per cent of the total.

The data indicates a significant disparity in completed voter registrations across the country’s geopolitical zones, with the North-West accounting for more than one-third of all completed registrations during the period under review.

According to INEC, a total of 1.23 million voter registrations had been completed nationwide as of February 13, 2026.
