APC Inaugurates National Campaign Council for Osun Governorship Polls
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the composition of its National Campaign Council and sub-committees for the Osun State governorship election scheduled for August 15, 2026.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC said the council will be chaired by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
According to the party, Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas will serve as co-chairmen, while the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, is the deputy chairman. Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin will serve as secretary of the council.
The APC said the campaign council comprises party leaders, governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other stakeholders drawn from across the country to coordinate the party’s campaign for the election.
The party also announced the establishment of specialised sub-committees to oversee key aspects of the campaign, including election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women’s mobilisation, special interest mobilisation for persons with disabilities, protocol, monitoring and compliance, and secretariat functions.
The APC said the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
