Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Campaign Fumes Over Police Detention of Party’s Legislative Candidate
The campaign organization supporting Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has voiced strong opposition to the police detention of the Accord party candidate for the Ijesa South Federal Constituency.
Responding to the security intervention, the Adeleke Campaign Council raised concerns regarding the timing and motivation behind the arrest, cautioning against actions that could heighten political tensions in the region.
The campaign council called on security agencies and law enforcement authorities to maintain strict political neutrality, ensure equal protection for all political actors, and prevent the partisan use of state security apparatuses.
In a statement addressing the incident, campaign representatives urged the Nigeria Police Force to handle the case with transparency and adhere strictly to due process to avoid compromising public trust.
The campaign reiterated Governor Adeleke’s commitment to peaceful, democratic processes, urging all political parties and security agencies to prioritize the safety of residents and the preservation of order across Osun State.
