Prioritize Insecurity Over 2027 Politics, Tambuwal Tells Tinubu on Sokoto Visit
A former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator representing Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has visited Bodinga Local Government Area to commiserate with residents displaced by a wave of recent bandit attacks.
Describing the persistent violence cutting across Sokoto and the wider nation as deeply alarming, Tambuwal reminded the federal government that protecting human lives and property remains its fundamental, constitutionally mandated responsibility.
He raised concerns that the political class appears to be diverting critical energy away from immediate safety priorities.
The federal lawmaker explicitly urged President Bola Tinubu and his administration to hit the brakes on premature 2027 electioneering and campaign movements, insisting that the presidency’s full, undivided attention must be devoted to confronting the country’s severe internal security challenges and shielding vulnerable communities from terror.
