Kebbi Hisbah Apprehend 25 Youth During Hotel Raid in Kebbi State
Officers from the Kebbi Hisbah Board, an agency operating under the state’s Ministry of Religious Affairs, have taken 25 young individuals into custody in Argungu town over allegations of engaging in inappropriate conduct.
The agency’s Director of Shariah, Sirajo Kamba, verified the development in an official statement distributed through the News Agency of Nigeria in Birnin Kebbi on Saturday.
According to Kamba, the Hisbah Board executed a targeted raid on a hospitality facility in Argungu on July 3, resulting in the successful detention of 25 individuals suspected of participating in illicit behavior. The group of detainees consists of 12 young men and 13 young women.
The director explained that the intervention aligns with the agency’s continuous campaign to suppress public misconduct, encourage upright behavior, and safeguard public order and societal decency throughout Kebbi State.
Kamba further noted that the board is set to launch a comprehensive legal review of the incident, assuring that any individuals proven guilty will be subjected to the formal judicial process.
