IPAC Commends Akwa Ibom Governor on CNG Vehicles, Unveiling 350-Bed Medical Facility
Hon. Blessing Umo, the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Akwa Ibom State, has commended Governor Umo Eno for bringing in Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) commercial buses and launching a newly built 350-bed hospital. She characterized these achievements as lasting assets that will benefit future generations.
Umo made these remarks to reporters on Friday in Uyo following the July session of the State Projects Delivery Meeting. The meeting, which took place at the Government House Banquet Hall, featured presentations from the governor highlighting vital milestones and ongoing projects across key sectors, most notably the arrival of 20 CNG mass transit buses and the commissioning of the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital.
According to the IPAC leader, the hospital project and the addition of the new transit fleet showcase an administration guided by creative thinking, strategic planning, and a distinct focus on upgrading the welfare of the public. She emphasized that Governor Eno has reaffirmed that lasting societal progress comes from intentional funding directed toward areas that offer long-range benefits to the public.
She further explained that the deployment of the eco-friendly transport buses marks a major breakthrough in the state’s drive toward affordable, modern, and green transit systems. This move is expected to alleviate commuting issues while keeping Akwa Ibom in step with international clean energy practices. She noted that expanding transit options is only one part of the benefit, as the shift also reduces travel expenses, protects the environment, and establishes the state as a frontrunner in green public transportation.
Turning her attention to the Ibom International Hospital, Umo praised the facility as an ambitious and calculated move that will thoroughly upgrade medical services within Akwa Ibom and the neighboring regions. She pointed out that such infrastructure outlives daily political arguments and provides a robust groundwork for a healthier, thriving, and financially competitive state.
She urged the citizens of Akwa Ibom to back programs that drive societal advancement, arguing that meaningful community growth must always rise above political party divides.
