The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its 24 candidates for the Kwara State House of Assembly election ahead of the 2027 general elections, concluding its candidate selection process across the state’s constituencies.

The list emerged after the party completed its screening and primary processes, which began in May with 158 aspirants vying for the tickets.

The candidates are Bello Yunisa Oniboki (Afon); Rukayat Mitunrayo Shittu (Onire/Owode); Ishaq Ibrahim Faru (Ilesha/Gwanara/Baruten I); Ahmed Shiro Yakuba (Okuta/Yashikira/Baruten II); Abubakar Soddiq Buhari (Lafiagi/Edu); Yusuf Dangana Aliyu (Patigi); Olujide Rotimi Samuel (Ekiti); Bakare Latifat Titilope (Oke Ero); Lawal Sulaimon (Omupo/Igbaja/Ifelodun I); Oyinloye Benjamin Dairo (Share/Oke Ode/Ifelodun II); Arinola Fatimoh Lawal (Ilorin East); Maryam Yusuf Aladi (Ilorin South); Ahmed Bolaji Sholagberu (Ilorin Central/Ilorin West I); Oba Magaji Abdulkadir (Ilorin West II); Fafoluyi Olayinka Michael (Irepodun); Awoyale Stephen Adeola (Isin); Umar Garba Yaru (Gwanabe/Adena/Banni/Kaiama I); Usman Zulqkarnaini Zakari (Kaiama/Wajibe/Kemanji/Kaiama II); Abdulraheem Medinat Mitunrayo (Lanwa/Ejidongari/Moro I); Lawal Ayanshola Salihu (Oloru/Malete/Ipaiye/Moro II); Ogunniyi David Oluwaseun (Balogun/Ojomu/Offa I); Omotosho Taiye Mutiat (Eesa/Shawo/Essa/Offa II); Yusuf Atoyebi Musa (Odo Ogun/Oyun I); and Ojo Olayiwola Oyebode (Oke Ogun/Oyun II).

The unveiling comes weeks after the party’s screening exercise generated controversy when an initial report indicated that 105 of the 158 aspirants had been disqualified.

The APC later reversed that outcome, cleared all aspirants, and proceeded with its primary elections to produce candidates for the 24 state assembly seats.

The party had commenced the process in May, with its screening committee describing the large number of aspirants as evidence of growing confidence in the APC in Kwara State and promising a transparent selection process.

The candidates are expected to fly the APC flag in the 24 state constituencies during the 2027 Kwara State House of Assembly election.
