Governor Sani Visits Family of Woman Lynched in Kaduna Over False Child Theft Accusation
The tragic lynching of Mrs. Halima Muhammad by a mob in Mararaban Jos, Kaduna State, has drawn widespread condemnation, prompting an immediate condolence visit from Governor Uba Sani to the victim’s family.
The incident has sparked severe public outrage, particularly after the victim’s husband alleged that local police personnel—including the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) failed to protect his wife, dragging her out of the police station and handing her over to an angry crowd of over 300 people who beat her and set her ablaze alongside her motorcycle over false rumors of child theft.
Governor Sani strongly condemned the act of jungle justice, calling it a horrific breach of human rights and the rule of law. He promised the grieving family that a thorough, transparent investigation would be carried out to ensure all perpetrators and any complicit security personnel face justice.
The Governor warned citizens against lawless vigilantism, reiterating that criminal allegations must strictly go through established legal channels.
