NSCDC Arrests 43-Year-Old School Worker for Impregnating 14-Year-Old Pupil in Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has arrested a 43-year-old school worker for allegedly impregnating a 14-year-old female pupil under his care.

The suspect, who works in one of the schools in the state, was detained after the young girl became pregnant following repeated sexual abuse. This incident has sparked outrage among residents who expect schools to be safe places for children.

The arrest was made after the matter came to light and was reported to the authorities. The young pupil is said to have been abused multiple times by the suspect in his office within the school premises. Many people are questioning how such acts could go unnoticed by other staff members and school management for so long. The case has raised serious concerns about the safety and supervision of children in educational institutions.

The NSCDC has vowed to prosecute the suspect to serve as a deterrent to others who might engage in similar acts. Officials described the behaviour as wicked and a clear abuse of position. The young girl is currently receiving medical attention and counselling to help her recover from the traumatic experience. Child rights advocates have called for stronger protection measures for pupils, especially girls, in schools across the country.

This case adds to the growing number of reports of sexual abuse involving minors in Nigeria. Many parents are now worried about the safety of their children in schools and are demanding better background checks on school staff. The incident has also led to calls for stricter laws and faster justice for perpetrators of child abuse.

The Kwara State Government and relevant authorities are expected to monitor the case closely to ensure justice is served. This development serves as a reminder of the need for constant vigilance and improved child protection systems in schools. Families and communities hope that such tragic cases will reduce through better supervision and awareness.
