Soludo’s Wife Partners Fidelity Bank to Empower 2,000 Women, Children in Anambra

The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo, has joined hands with Fidelity Bank Plc to empower no fewer than 2,000 women and children in the state.

The programme provided them with useful items and support to help improve their lives and businesses. This effort aims to promote economic independence and better opportunities for families.

The event took place at the Banquet Hall of the Light House in Awka on Saturday. Under the ‘Fidelity Bank/Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Empowerment Programme’, many women received sewing machines and grinding machines. Others got food packs, while 250 children received solar-powered school bags to support their education.

Dr Nonye Soludo explained that the initiative was designed to build stronger communities by investing in people. She stressed the importance of partnerships between organisations and individuals who want to make a difference.

The first lady also commended Fidelity Bank for its support in women’s empowerment and child development.

Representatives from Fidelity Bank, including Dr Meksley Nwagboh, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to improving lives through education, food security, and economic support for women. They noted that such programmes help place economic power in the hands of women and create lasting impact across communities.

This kind of support highlights the power of collaboration in addressing daily challenges faced by women and children. As more programmes like this continue, many hope it will lead to greater economic growth and better living conditions for families in Anambra State and beyond.
