Dapo Abiodun has expressed grief over the death of APC South West Women Leader, Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya, describing her passing as a significant loss to both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the country.

Adesanya reportedly died on Thursday evening at her residence in Lagos after battling a prolonged illness.

In a condolence message, the Ogun State governor praised the late APC leader for her unwavering commitment to the party, her role as a grassroots mobiliser, and her advocacy for greater participation of women in politics and governance.

Abiodun noted that Adesanya dedicated many years to strengthening the APC, particularly in the South-West region, where she played a key role in expanding and coordinating the party’s women’s wing through mobilisation efforts, mentorship, and service.

According to the governor, her dedication to progressive ideals, humility, and commitment to party development earned her widespread respect among party members and political associates across the country.

He described her death as painful and devastating, adding that the APC had lost a dependable and resourceful leader whose contributions to women’s empowerment and party growth would be remembered for years to come.

Abiodun also extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, the leadership of the APC and party members across the South-West region.

He prayed for the repose of her soul and asked God to grant her loved ones, friends, and associates the strength to cope with the loss.
