Nigerian Breweries Announces HR Leadership Change as Grace Omo-Lamai Retires

Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Nkechi Runsewe as its new Human Resources Director, effective August 1, 2026.

The company said Runsewe will take over from Grace Omo-Lamai, who is set to retire on July 28 after nearly 10 years in the role.

According to the company, Runsewe joins from HEINEKEN, the parent company of Nigerian Breweries, where she most recently served as Global Head of Talent Management.

In her new role, she is expected to drive the implementation of the company’s EverGreen 2030 strategy by strengthening organisational structure, workforce capabilities, leadership development and performance management systems.

Commenting on the appointment, Managing Director Thibaut Boidin described Runsewe as an experienced leader with a strong background in talent management and organisational development.

He said her experience in building high-performance teams across different regions would support the company’s long-term growth plans and efforts to create a future-ready workforce.

Before her latest position at HEINEKEN, Runsewe served as Regional Talent Lead for Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. She has also held senior positions at organisations including Etisalat, M-Net Africa and Diageo.

Reacting to her appointment, Runsewe said she was honoured to join Nigerian Breweries at a significant stage in the company’s development, adding that she looks forward to strengthening leadership capacity and deepening talent development within the organisation.

The company also commended Omo-Lamai for her contributions during her tenure, noting that Nigerian Breweries recorded several recognitions under her leadership, including Great Place To Work Silver recognition in 2021 and Top Employer certifications in Nigeria and Africa in 2026.
