Troops Neutralize Terrorists, Clamp Down on Logistics Collaborators in Borno, Yobe
Troops of the Nigerian Military operating in the Northeast theatre have neutralized several insurgent fighters and apprehended key logistics collaborators during aggressive clearance operations across Borno and Yobe states.
The successful operations, conducted under the banner of Operation Hadin Kai, targeted known terrorist hideouts, transit pathways, and supply networks utilized by remnants of Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP). Acting on precise, intelligence-led data, the forward-deployed soldiers engaged the insurgents in a fierce gun battle, forcing surviving elements to flee into the surrounding wilderness with gunshot wounds while leaving behind their weapon caches.
Beyond neutralizing the armed combatants on the field, the military struck a significant blow against the insurgency’s support infrastructure by arresting multiple collaborators who function as critical links for the terror groups. These suspects, who were intercepted at various border communities and transit corridors between Borno and Yobe, are accused of facilitating logistics, tracking troop movements, smuggling fuel, and procuring essential supplies to sustain the fighters in their forest enclaves.
The military high command confirmed that several assault rifles, ammunition, communication gadgets, and large quantities of logistical materials were recovered during the raids. The arrested supply-chain collaborators have been taken into custody for profiling and comprehensive interrogation to further dismantle their underground networks, while troops maintain a high state of alertness to deny the remnants of the terrorist groups any freedom of operational movement in the region.
