Kebbi Hisbah Arrests Man Found Inside Bag at Married Woman’s Residence

Operatives of the Kebbi State Hisbah Board have arrested a man who was allegedly discovered hiding inside a “Ghana Must-Go” bag during a raid on a married woman’s residence in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi.

The Director of Sharia at the board, Sirajo Kamba, disclosed the development in a statement released on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi.

According to him, residents of the community alerted the Hisbah Board shortly after midnight on Monday after observing a man entering the woman’s house under suspicious circumstances.

Kamba said officers were immediately deployed to the location following concerns that the visit could be linked to conduct considered contrary to Islamic principles.

He explained that when the operatives arrived, the woman reportedly denied that anyone else was in the house.

However, she later permitted the officers to conduct a search of the premises.

During the search, the suspect was allegedly found concealed inside a travel bag commonly referred to as a “Ghana Must-Go” bag.

The Hisbah official added that preliminary investigations indicated that the man and the married woman were involved in a romantic relationship.

He further stated that both suspects allegedly admitted to the claims during interrogation and would be charged before a Sharia court for further legal proceedings.
